It’s strawberry season in Oregon! Inspired by the sweetness of strawberry ice cream, this Sprinkle Wall DIY project is so yummy you will want to eat it. Read on as our Color Nerds take you through a quick step-by-step using Colorhouse zero VOC, low odor paint.
You will need:
1 quart of SPROUT .06 eggshell
PETAL .05 8 oz. Colorspot
THRIVE .06 8 oz. Colorspot
PETAL .04 8 oz. Colorspot
ASPIRE .06 8 oz. Colorspot
BISQUE .01 8 oz. Colorspot
METAL .04 8 oz. Colorspot
SPROUT .01 8 oz. Colorspot
Paint your wall in Colorhouse SPROUT .06. We recommend eggshell for wall surfaces. Allow to dry 24 hrs.
Using your triangle ruler, draw triangle shapes on the wall. We traced the inside and the outside of the ruler for different sizes, turning the triangle create a random pattern. We clustered more triangles in the center of our designs and spaced them out along the edges to get a our “sprinkle effect”.
Put the painter’s tape on the outside edges of each triangle.
PRO TIP: To make the perfect triangle without paint leaking through the tape, brush a light coat of the base paint (in this case SPROUT .06) along the inside edge of the tape. This will seal the edge. Any leaking under the tape will be the same color and sheen as the base coat, so you won’t be able to see it when you take off the tape. This is what will make your traingles PERFECT!
The super fun part- paint each triangle! Mix and match your sprinkle colors, just like on the top of an ice cream cone!
Remove the tape!
STEP 7:SMILE! Time for an ice cream social!
